Upscale Snarky Model Rocket
No, that's not mine, that's the DynaStar picture off Apogee's site
I'm upscaling it to a 4" airframe for my 64mm RATTWorks hybrid rocket motors.
I did find one
other guy upscaling it here.
My upscale won't be exact. The fins and tubes will be pretty accurate,
as I upscaled it in RockSim based on the .rkt file provided by Apogee.
But I'm using what's mostly the rocket as the booster section (my RATT
Hybrid motors are 36" long which is most of the upscale rocket) and so
I'll have a payload section adding another 4 feet or so.
This is also Carbon Fiber
Composite practice for my L3 project,
so the body tubes are carbon fiber wrapped and my fins are carbon fiber
laminated 1/8" plywood. I'm also planning on following the Shadow Aero video
instructions for composite airframes - which means no TTW fin
mounting - everything surface mounted and reinforced.
I have carbon fiber wrapped the booster, payload, and tube fin sections
with heat shrink tape per my above link. I have also practiced vacuum
bagging an 18x24" sheet of fin stock with laminations of CF top and
bottom on 1/8" plywood. All of this is with 3K 5.7oz carbon fiber.
I'm stuck for time there!
